The Cat Hater

a tall glass of chilled lemonade in his hand, he sits in a rattan lounging chair at the veranda that looks out to a tropical beach in his summer home; something furry on the floor moves between his sandy feet; looking down, he sees a kitten curled cozily in a nap there; other times he would have kicked the animal away, but not now, he can be truly tolerant on a very lovely day.
