The Cascades
We were like desperate creatures up there on that mountain;
Hoping the other might be the one to fulfill the others driven desire
We often met in the shadows of the dark with only the moon to guide us.
And we whispered low like two wolfs that recognized each other’s scent;
We were in a world no one else could ever understand
And neither of us cared to.
And we devoured every moment as;
If it were something we’d never tasted.
And we held on so tight with no promises of tomorrow because;
Tomorrows were so often uncertain for those like us.
I felt more like myself than I ever had before;
And for that I’ll never forget you and maybe;
That’s how real life should end up being;
Moments of time you’ll always remember;
And wish you could have again and again and again
