The Carillon

The Carillon Bell Tower Ashes smolder Firey shadows linger Dull fingerprints of smoke on chimes Silencing carillon’s song of the hours Heaven’s breath stirs an angelus Rouses Bells Denny Hall at the University of Washington was almost destroyed by fire. The campus carillon was in Denny Hall but restored when the building was rebuilt. The carillon’s music is treasured and marks the hours of the day. 6-27-21 Contest: Bells Sponsor: John Anderson

I love the sound of bells. I lived for many years a stone's throw from a church and found the ringing soothing. Thank you for stirring fond memories.

Another great write. Sponsor mentioned that lines should have single spacing. Enjoy your day

Thanks so much Rama. So glad you liked this poem. Carillons are special. Not sure how your computer is reading this shape poem. Single spacing is integral to creating the bell shape along with centering the poem. Are you entering the contest. Would love to see your entry. Have a great week. Wonderful to hear from you.
