The Candy Bar

I admired the shiny wrapper seemingly made of polished silver as if a jewel were sealed inside The cellophane sleeve of six caught my eye and my heart responded “Only one dollar” my internal accountant told me I took that as an approval But my hand already had it in its grasp A few minutes later sitting in the parking lot I peeled open the wrapper With closed eyes as if in prayer to the god of chocolate I took my first bite When my eyes opened I noticed the stranger in the truck facing me watching It’s been over ten years and I still remember him I wonder if he remembers me

Could the stranger be yourself, years ago? Perhaps. Either way, you have expressed this beautifully. I must say, on a side note. :) I love chocolate. Yummy!! Just saying. ~ Brandy

I'm sure most can relate to being the stranger, myself included.
