Notes About The Poem

Not sure what poem form this is. A Pantuom, or a Villanelle or a Duplex with a Couplet rhyme scheme?

First Evangelical Presbyterian Church (the picture is the removal of this building in 2026) was built in 1923 and closed its doors in 2023. This church denied Christ's diety. Jesus will remove His candle stand. Calvary OPC (built in 1936) preaches Christ's dual nature. God moves according to His timeline. Usually 100 years is the bench mark as we have read about Jan Hus (who died in 1415) he said  "A swan will arise in 100 years" In 1517 Martin Luther (his moniker is a swan) indicted the heretical church in his 95 Thesis.

"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot" Joni Mitchell

The Candle Flickers

The candle flickers
As it shines light on lewd vicars
Creating parchment of their own
Planting evil seeds wherever sown
The candle flickers
Because The Wind dickers
With all the lost souls
That's how the Holy Spirit rolls
The candle flickers
Christ weaves all the wickers
It's His will for the church brand
Whether there remains a candle stand
The candle flickers
The church in the thicket
Starting with the tongue of flames
And the pillar kept in step in hace
The candle flickers
And in spite of Satan's snickers
To the church of present day
The promise of a remnant remains
