The Candle and the Lights

The candle light flickers on the window sill
Like it's shivering against the winter chill
Outside is dark but lights are on so far away
What would I wonder the candle and lights say

I'm sure the candle's best friend is a match
Lights appear without the need of a safety hatch
The candle and the lights are used worldwide
Both are essential should you be inside

Many years ago there wasn't any light
A candle was lit during most of the night
How things change from those days long ago
The candle and lights are still giving a glow

“Candle’s best friend is a match”- I doubt if I will think of anything else all week. This observation delighted me.

Candles were around many years before Thomas Edison got around to inventing the light bulb. Both serve the same purpose, but occasionally, I use candles when I'm in a bit of a romantic mood. I especially like to burn scented candles. Good write.
