The Cactus Land

Let us watch the rain fall and crack the concrete under its weight The weight The weight The weight of hydrogen seems insignificant. Atomic weight. Jesus? Jesus? Jesus? Are you going to be my friend after all this? Flogged with bullwhips and scissors I am the suffering. Find your leaves and twigs and saplings Under fallen pillars of Old Rome. Let us watch the sun fall and destroy the horizon with its rays The rays The rays The rays of the sun are so warm on our cold-blooded skin. Ultra-violet rays. And the field is born again with superflowers Crucified on Pagan tongues. Horse flies and buzzards kill their thirst In puddles of stagnant blood. Lovers Lovers Lovers seek nothing in this new world but fertility and vittles. Tasty vittles. Trees are grown down Gravity defiant. Drown over oxygen. Murder over life. Copyright 2009 (Calin Foster)
