The Burning Bowl

a paper full of
thoughts sharp
enough to cut
the place where
they sit -- her
pencil moving
across the paper
with fire...and fire
awaits these old
broken bits of
doubts, so-called
failtures, and hurts

the music in the
sanctuary brush-
strokes against
this new canvas
of a new year, new
goals, new life
the new paper
holding the new
goals

one by one the
negative burned
in the bowl after
being held to a
flame of a pillar
candle...
