The Buffalo Grass

Blonde in the summer’s sun Like golden dreams swaying in a sea With each breath of wind Dancing rhythmically Thunder and pounding rains Burden blades with sweet teas That dampens the veins And brings strength to the leaves Glistening silver edges under the moon Gives texture to the night With dreamlike images That spark blue moods to light Ancient times bore the prairie lands And blessed it with the Buffalo Grass That seeds more than life With seeds from the past
