The British Weather

It's the only land that you can get all seasons in one day you name it UK displays it all the colors from blue to grey It certainly has loads of great variety from sun clouds snow and pouring rain to hail winds storms and freezing ice has such a staining effect on the brain The north is such damp climate having wet damp miserable outlook fills one with negative thoughts when sun shines it seems a fluke In the south where it's bright as it's mostly warmer with sunshine for it's labelled the English riviera where it matures like a good wine The east has real mighty gale force as America's conditions effect the west when they come across from States on the atlantic waves full crest So that's Britain's wayward weather like it or lump it that's your lot remember you guys across the pond don't send everything that you've got! (Just some thoughts on the UK weather and how it varies so much, also a little quip at you guys in US where we seem to get the effects of your east coast storms but rarely your sunshine. but no matter we love you all!!!)

Well...I can send you our dry, seering, fire-causing heat from Fresno, California. It’s supposed to reach 113 degrees Fahrenheit this week. Anyway great poem!

Thanks Jennifer, Well, in fact, it's a lovely sunny day here in Scotland at the moment looking out my window. I don't think I could cope with your searing heat just a bit too much, more like 20-30c is more my scene. Glad you enjoyed my piece and thanks for dropping in. Take care always, Gordon

It seems every British movie I watch, it's either raining or foggy, or both. I'm glad to hear the sun does shine sometimes! Nice poem.

Hi Gordon, i know that when my uncle was out here from England some years ago, he was out sunbathing in a temperature of 16 degrees whilst we had our jersey and coat on! For us to get in a swimming pool it mus be 30 degree and over, but lately the climate pattern has changed and we can also get 4 seasons in a day. Thoroughly enjoyed your poem. On our last holiday to the UK we drove up to Edinburgh - would like to do more of Scotland, Best wishes, Jennifer

Thanks Jennifer, glad you liked it, My you're brave swimming at 16 degrees! I remember going to a heated swimming pool in George, it was lovely. When we were in SA it was usually in October the couple of times we were there, Christine's cousin who we stayed with had no central heating in the flat next door so we slept with our jumpers on as we wouldn't put on the electric heating as it was made with asbestos as that material is banned in the UK. Hope you manage Scotland again but hope its summer and its warmer for you. Blessings, Gordon
