The Bridegroom

I wait patiently as the days go by
Hoping against hope that time will not fly
Wishing for the sounds of the bridal gong
Longing to adorn the bridal gown
But my love where art thou?
Has thou slipped by me and gone to another town?
I am tired of waiting from morn to night
Come quickly now and together we will sing the song of life
In joys and sorrows together strive
My love please come quickly soon
When love and beauty are still in bloom
And in my heart there is yet room
