The Break-Up

Relationships are about more than what we can get
When we're in them we have to focus beyond ourselves
and find what we can give
A two-way street is easier said than done
Some say love conquers all but some battles are never won
Especially when the romance ends just as soon as it begun
The fussing the fighting, lying, and allegations you try to hold it in like you have
constipation
But in the process of waiting
you start saying the stuff you shouldn't be saying
Like talking about all the stuff one another doesn't do
And y'all both feeling like something is owed to you
You try to search for resolution but have no clue
You want to give this love a try but this is so old to you
Who would've known after all of the blood and tears this relationship drew the
same love that gave you vitality would give you the flu
She said we can come to a compromise and give me more of what I want so she
is
extending her hand
But the only thing I'm giving is giving a damn
