The Book of Her Body

I lift you up, delicately
like a bouquet of flames in pink patient fever,
romantically, I rove your surface with fingertips that tingle,
the texture of your treated cover tempts an impatient lover,
I read your Title, Her World, Her War
subtitle, Surviving Sorrow & Love,
your emblem, embossed in opal
a quill spun across a heart spelling your soul,

I spread you open with both hands
my grip holding the breadth of your body
a scent of sensuous ink unfurles into my inquisitive senses
raising you into my fascinated face
smelling the cleavage of your binding
sailing my lips down the center of your special secret
having your silky ribbons root around my fingers,
breathing, in warm curiosity on your exotic fibers,

Loving me as I hold you in wonder,
as I finger your pages with fawning pursuit of pleasure,
speedily you whisper my name with no refrain
as my moist voice recites
your poetry of paradise and pressure points,
I venture deeper into your voluptuous volume
feeling sensations of starlight I do consume,
in your tome of thick passion I find a home,

I like to read you in the suspense of night
searching your love lines, tasting your grape vines,
touching your emotions, embracing your sweet seductions,
you get into my nerves like electric sugar
illuminated by your poems of ardor and prose of candor,
intrigued by the penmanship of a Princess, curvaceous and calculating,
I turn to the Introduction, to see a photo of the great Authoress
a face pretty in courage, a smile of beautiful strategy
your body of work legendary,
I kiss you because I must -

I came back to this poem to tell you that though you are still in my favorite poet folder, I have not been able to read the passion in your newer writes that I find here. Interesting comments on this piece.

Never have I read anything written about a book in so sensual a manner. Both obvious and veiled reference to sexuality of a woman permeates the entire piece, and this makes it such an enthralling read, Justin. I do believe I have neglected myself the pleasure of reading your creative writes. I shall have to correct that in the future. HUgs! Kim :)

This. This is amazing. Beautiful. Sensual. Carress her spine, finger the folds of her pages, make love to her letters, touch her where she is most fragile, make her bindings come undone. Love her, nakedly. Love her like your favorite book.

“raising you into my fascinated face-- smelling the cleavage of your binding” Your fascination with this poet is a fascination in itself. My all-time favorite lines of this piece—I was melted by it all by the way—was….“I like to read you in the suspense of night, searching your love lines, tasting your grape vines, touching your emotions, embracing your sweet seductions”

Speaking of feeling, you really put me in this piece. I felt a lot from this… it is simply incredible on all levels—whether we are looking at it physically or any deeper. I can tell you put all of your heart and soul into this. I feel escalating strength and inspiration in your newer works. I also admire how you compared her to reading an irresistible, immersing book. Moreover, she is that book—and what a book she must be!

becomes highly curious of the intent and what is actually going on in the mind of the writer. We can make guesses, but only so far as our imaginations will allow! Mind you—I have a relentless one, so that gives you an idea of where MY mind went! xD Anyway, you attract all the senses with your fantastic use of metaphor and symbolism. This is just from my viewpoint, at least. But from the comments below, I am quite certain many others would feel the same way.

and in this poem, the physical and spiritual are one, and that makes this poem all the more beautiful, advantageous(in terms of getting the right message out) and sensually stirring. “a scent of sensuous ink unfurles into my inquisitive senses” That line, I can easily relate to when reading a lot of your more sensual cored masterpieces such as this. Your poem Mistress Fire, was one of those highly sensual poems where the reader (at least myself!!)

"I read your Title, Her World, Her War subtitle, Surviving Sorrow & Love" You know this person all too well, it seems. She is a book you would never put down. The...heart and soul of her works…her very essence, attracts you like no other. What I really sense here is almost the need—on both sides—for both physical love and spiritual love…

She is a heart I will never abandon, a love that gives life truer purpose. The Cosmos has brought us together for fire and creation, if we were ever to lose eachother something Divine in the world would vanish and that would be a terrible tragedy Laura. We need one another like passion needs inspiration. We have become a new heart that if divided will become two lesser hearts. J.A.B.

There is a lot I want to say about this poem, Justin, and unfortunately, I will leave a great fraction of my thoughts out. From a technical perspective, this poem has all of the elements- metaphor, color, and purpose- that any reader with a poetic mind cannot help but be desperately enchanted by. I am not saying I am some professional focusing on and searching for all of the frigid technicalities and structures, however, you know for a fact that I am wholly enchanted. ..

There is only one of her in existence Casarah, she's made of the finest material, lusterous soul, she's sought after and even hunted by the most discerning scholars, poets and pirates. She celebrates struggles of soul, can romance the sense out of a tough man, and even encourages trouble. She is the only woman I love. I'm happy you feel the extreme in this poem Casarah. Thank you!
