The Blue Jay
Blue jays is a thing of beauty
Their Blue and brown
Interchangeable feathers is also a
Very odd and beautiful thing
The way it reflects to light
They are passionate for keeping
The yard free and clear of
Insects and caterpillars
They’re also very smart
They have a strong attack mode
When my nosy cat tries to climb
The tree to the blue jay’s nest
The bird calls for backup and
Forces her to crawl low to the ground
With her ears down and tail
Between her legs, trying to
Get away, it’s funny
When they peck her on
Her behind, she does
A complete three-sixty
And they continue to attack
Until she's gone for good
Later she peeks out her head
But the blue jays are gone
