The Blue Horse of Mewar

The notable royal horse called Chetak, ridden by 16th century ruler Maharana Pratap, found place in the annals of Rajputana history as the valiant and loyal blue horse. When Akbar’s mighty mughal army attacked the kingdom of Mewar, and a fierce battle raged in the canyon of Haldighati of the Aravalli range, where Pratap rode Chetak to fight the enemy. Chetak got wounded in the midcourse and feeling he might fall anytime in the battlefield, he jumped over a stream, took Pratap to safety before he succumbed to the injury, died a hero.
