Notes About The Poem

Where is the United Stes of America headed?

The Blue and Red Debate

The Blue and Red Debate
By Franklin Price
9/28/2016

Been a couple days ago
Since the blue and red debate
Between Hillary and Donald
To determine presidential fate

Don't think it changed constituents
Or if it did, not much
Neither's presentation
Contained the Midas touch

Hillary was much prepared
To tout the same old line
Donald shooting from the hip
Would make us more than fine

Hillary had some substance
In what she said was nothing new
Donald would make us great again
That's what he said he'd do

We watched it all together
With interest, wife and I
Was not pleased when it was over
It almost made us cry

Is this the best this country has
To sail our ship of state?
Time will tell if good or not
Certainly not by this debate
