The Blooming Fairy

For my first born, Sofia. She wears the face of a fairy Her eyes, deep with intensity Make you think of prairies Inviting a walk in the country. She travels the skies to search For the secret of the universe Her soul longing to rule her world But struggles to find grandeur. She needs the approval of her peers To feel her worth, for she cannot see The true beauty lurking deep And I pray to find the one who can help her be free. So she can fly like the fairies Her eyes, deep with intensity As she hovers over prairies And makes the flowers bloom pretty. By CarolineCécile Copyright © 06.25.10

What a sweet dedication to your daughter, Caroline. Children have such wonderful imaginative powers. I used to pretend I could fly too. Like the image of Sofia hovering over the prairies and using her magic to make the flowers bloom. Beautiful poem -- a delight to read! Love, Carolyn
