The Black Diary
In the dark,
With shadowed promises,
I remember the black diary.
The one I promised I’d never keep,
The one that was never to be written.
The diary holding all of your deepest secrets,
Your painful regrets and tortured memories.
Every one I took,
Word by word I wrote it down.
Don’t worry its hiding place is safe.
Because these words written down,
Were words seared into my soul.
