The Bird Lady

With auburn hair that greets the gentle breeze She captivates the moment to put the world at ease For every morn, along a lakeside walk she trills the most uncanny ability to talk With all the birds that dwell along the lane she speaks in feathered tongue while sounding quite insane Her breakfast call to sparrows, ducks and doves invites them in for feeding, everyone she loves Diminutive, a sweet and simple soul I listen to her pleasure each morning as I stroll Forgetting not her other furry friends she shares her bounty fare as her heart extends So funny still they understand her drawl It’s simply odd since squirrel she does’t speak at all
