The Bird Flew and Flew

The bird flew and flew

The bird flew around the cage
Never knowing the outside
Seeing but not able to feel

One day her cage was left open
She flew round and round
Overwhelmed with excitement

Flying round the room
She saw another outside
Settling on the window sill

She wondered how that would feel

This bird has just had the first taste of freedom; now it's tempted to have it all! This could be quite a metaphor, Laura. ~ Warm regards // paul

Thank you Paul! This poem is about freedom in many different ways inlcuding as you describe, but also to remind ones self that life has a lot offer and that there are always opportunities, one thing can lead to the another. Warm regards :)
