The Biggest Bumblebee

I saw the biggest bumblebee That I have ever seen And so I guessed, quite naturally, It must have been the queen. She hovered, with some smaller bees, Above some garden blooms, Demanding some obeisance From the workers, one assumes. But since I’m not an expert, Maybe she was not in charge And they were all acquaintances With one just extra large.

I recently went to a talk on bees - most fascinating subject, sounds like it was the queen with her loyal drones who will die after mating with her!:-) hugs jan xx
