The Big Picture
The big Picture,
Can you see it yet?
No not that one it, it is too small,
Not that either,
It is only a mirror mage of yourself.
Still cannot see it?
Then you are not thinking big enough,
Searching wide enough,
Or long enough.
Try thinking of something big,
Bigger than you,
Bigger than your expectations for yourself,
Something so big,
It might not include you.
Can you see it now?
The one you have been helping paint,
All your life.
If you really can see it now?
You may still have time,
To paint over the legacy,
You were going to leave your children,
And replace it with something that has a brighter hue.
Something that they can't talk their eyes off,
Something to stop them from dropping the ball,
Something that will draw them into the big picture,
Something so big,
Something so wonderful,
It gives them a reason,
To look away from the mirror
And stop them taking so many selfies.
Something to make them want to start right away,
On painting their own legacy into the big picture,
Now they have have the means to paint,
Because you refrained from buying that extra beer,
Or shut the door on the drug dealer who keeps you,
From seeing the bigger picture.
