The Better Half of Me

Not a single day escapes from me
That in thought you are not near.
Your lovely smile always brings
To each new day a ray of cheer.

Oft times, in thought, I question
What life without you would be.
Should I awake and find you gone
And there remained no one but me.

In you is the heart of a servant
Your love I could not resist.
Until the end you'll always be
My rose that the dew has kissed.

Written for my wife on our 44th wedding anniversary
which we spent in the home of Ricky & Shirlene
