The Betrayal

I thought I was waiting for an answer
But the words don’t come like that, do they?
I should have known for more than one reason
Better reason that trust is not something
I had to live with, I knew there was something
Something was not to cheer me up
But to break me apart, thrash me to
The ground of reality, a bittersweet reality
Of that truth that would shatter this heart of mine
The reason for your existence in my heart
Is not the reason I loved you but the reason
That made me who I am today, the lonely one
Yes the same reason, the betrayal
