The Bethlehem Hilton

Those Romans and their Emperor Augustus,
have been causing us all a lot of fuss.
What nerve they had with the orders they gave you.
This is especially when your wife’s baby is due.
How was your trip from up north in Nazareth?
We are nearly booked for December the twenty-fifth.
Despite the busy season we have been through,
we have reserved the penthouse suite just for you.
Some prominent businesspersons from far away,
have made all the arrangements for your stay.
This hotel caters to all your needs and wants.
We have several highly rated five-star restaurants.
There is around-the-clock room service available.
Attendants are quick, efficient, and quite able.
Three men without the slightest trace of pretense,
have sent a gift of gold, myrrh, and frankincense.
They told us you were King David’s descendents.
United Parcel Service has made the delivery.
You must sign for it. It is waiting in the lobby.
Joseph and Mary, we hope you enjoy your stay.
We are here to assist you in every way.

Don't you think they deserved better accomodations than a stable?

Yes, they did deserve the type of accommodations you described so well in this satirically witty write, Robert. If only this had been the case when our Savior was born. BTW, I have been to Bethlehem, PA, but not during the holiday season. I wish I could see that star you mentioned. Best wishes for happy holidays, Robert! Love, Carolyn

That star is there all year long, and it is lighted at night. Best holiday wishes to you also, Carolyn.
