The Benefactors
Human nature can be so fickle...
...So vain, as it pumps through vein
Sorrow seeps in the morning mourning
this valid emotion is heart hurt in motion
We speak of devotion...but seldom
act the part, as selfish gain rips this apart
Jealousy rips each way it runs
Engulfing those who lack the funds
This is no fun...This is strictly business
...who is this? The mirror images erode
We robbed each other breaking the code..
a twisted oath of thieves-
honor never more
Tricks fell from their sleeves-
as they bolted out the door
Backs get stabbed in this part of town
Ambitous souls get shot right down
Lies get told like breaths are breathed
I bite my tongue as anger seethed
My tongue now bleeds--they collect and flee
Set sail west to an unchartered sea
Bitter is the taste of misplaced trust
Iron resolve dissolved with disgraced rust
Guilt does not consume them
But anguish devours me-
