The Bell of Time: Birth

The bell of time is ticking
'Tick tock',
the loaded counts.
In and out,
one added one,
and one smiled
for one cried.

One beget one,
and one, another.
Wise men bearing gifts,
one behind the other.
Prying eyes
stealing views.
Passing sighs,
and hummings too.
