The Beginning of the End

The Beginning Of The End Call it an end to all that once was Or call it a beginning to all that could be Pave the pages for your footsteps Over puddles of muddy water And across desolate forests Perhaps the world needs to be fixed Or maybe it was never really broken Everything you wish to find Is already here within your mind To step forth from the shadows of ancestors And create the bridges for descendants This is the step we all try to take But it is often the hardest Through pressure to fit in To conform to the popular belief To fall in line like a herd of sheep Nothing more is expected of us Somewhere along the line others create us And craft us in their own image An image crafted by someone else And an image passed down by generations The petty hates of yesterday thrive today Based on the knowledge passed through the ages But we all hold the keys of a better tomorrow This life is an adventure for us all So it's time to stop following false leaders And abandon sadness and sorrow To pave a future of hope and happiness You would call this an end to all that once was But I call it a beginning to all that could be Life is fickle and doesn't last forever So it's time I step out of line and find my own path
