The Beauty and Essence of a Pretty Cowgirl

The Beauty And Essence Of A Pretty Cowgirl Although she wraps herself in soft leather, Wearing her pointy-toed cowboy boots, She delights in darkest stormy weather And banging sounds her fast six-shooter shoots; But hurt her and she just barely whimpers, She is a lovely cowgirl through and through Best to flee fast if rousing her temper For she may stomp and beat you black and blue. Yet gently hold her hand and give a kiss You she may then gift a romantic night You shall next wake unto heavenly bliss But lord man, don't you ever pick a fight! Although she wraps herself in soft leather, She delights in darkest stormy weather. R. J. Lindley, June 26th 1979 Sonnet, ( That ravishing beauty wearing cowboy boots ) Note: 7- 02- 1979 Met a cowgirl at the club, she was absolutely gorgeous. We rode together all weekend. No saddle needed. She left me that Monday morn, saying- "maybe again next year".. Note: 3-11-2021 There truly are some that are totally unforgettable..

My friend, such is not the first nor was it the last time that my youthful temper cost me dearly. Took me several more decades to finally tame it..

Thank you my friend. Best part about that is it is a true tale. No Hollywood actress was more beautiful than was that ravishingly beautiful lady. I view it as a great treasure lost. Mainly because our last day together I got into a fight over her. And she definitely disliked guys that fought. Guys that had a temper. Nothing I could do because my Irish/Native American blood line cursed me with that inner rage in my youth..

My wonderful friend, I love the title and the feisty, fierce, romantic spirit of this cowgirl. Your awe-inspired joy shines in the wild youth of this sonnet. I relished your poet's notes as well. The one from 7-02-1979 is a poem in and of itself. A beautiful poetic gem, Robert. Your golden pen and reminisces never fail you. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

reply continued.... on second thought maybe she thinks it was indeed her loss. One never knows... A previous very long poem that I wrote about her had mysteriously disappeared along with some others back then when I started dating the girl that became my second wife...

As far as beauty goes , the one I met and was with- was definitely far more sexy and beautiful than a dream goddess. I made sure to go to the rodeo and the club that night the next year and she was a no-show. I was damn sure ready to rock n roll with her again but my guess is she was by then involved with another guy or else married. As women that drop-dead sexy, smart and gorgeous do not stay aloof, alone, and/or single for that long. I would say-- her great loss but I suspect that it is by far more my great loss.. Youth and its many turns and paths taken my friend. That is life...
