The Beautiful Memory

A cottage amongst nature,
Days with friends from church.

The sunlight shone above the trees,
God's miracle from above.

We lunched and conversed,
Walked about inhaling the fresh air.

He was young and handsome,
I was shy and receptive.

We talked about beautiful experiences,
I could have spent a lifetime at his side.

He was like a knight in shinning armour,
Rescuing the beautiful maiden.

In the distance you could hear the sparkling waters,
The sound of songbirds singing their song.

A day the Lord God allowed us,
To be together in friendship and companionship.

Our parents nearby and protective,
Blessed by the presence of the Lord.

Two friends a man and a woman that given the chance,
Could have married successfully.

Ah, we were much too young,
Always a beautiful memory.
