The Battles Are Not Over
THE BATTLES ARE NOT OVER
The battles are not over; they’ve only just begun
When we come to the Savior, when we accept the Son.
For now we’ll have two natures that wage a war inside;
The carnal nature’s active, it has not gone and died!
And now we’ll have the devil and all his demon host
To keep us ineffective with what we need do most.
We might face persecution or laughter from our friends
Who think we have gone crazy or just off the deep end.
And even in our family some may not understand
Why we choose to be different and follow God’s command.
But now we have the armor--belt, breastplate, shoes, and shield,
The helmet of salvation, a mighty sword to wield.
So though we may fight battles, grow weary or get weak,
We need to keep on going, His help to ever seek.
Through prayer and sole dependence on Christ to always be
We’ll overcome each battle and win each victory.
