The Battle Hymn of Covid19
I cannot let this obsession with Coronavirus (COVID19) go
It is apparent, from the number of deaths projected, to be in the hundreds of thousands, that many Americans still are not heeding the warnings. I hope that my writing about it somehow helps people understand the importance of listening and working together to get through this terrible ordeal
This is my fourth pass at, what I believe to be, a comprehensive view of the situation.
I have changed the title to reflect the song, have added a couple stanzas, and am hoping it will do some good in helping us get to the end of this infliction with as few deaths as possible.
The Battle Hymn of COVID19
(To the tune of the Battle Hymn of the Republic)

In the Far off land of China, many thousand miles away
Coronavirus taking seed, to make the whole world pay
Was ever more contagious as it traveled on it's way
Its dangers just begun
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
It got aboard the planes and boats, and came across the sea
Hid among the passengers and came for you and me
It started out in Washington, this Virus we can't see
Then spread across the land
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
The President was made aware, of the trouble we were in
That we had been invaded, and the dying would begin
The oldest were the most at risk, must act or it's a sin
There is no cure today
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
He shut down all the borders, sent the non-essentials home
Organized a virus task force, to address this virus gnome
Called upon the clueless Congress that was underneath the dome
The whole World is at war
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
Each of us must join the fight, the best way that we can
Must sequester in our houses, not be with our fellow man
It spreads by social closeness, now we have a travel ban
The virus marches on
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
Wash your hands and do it often, while you sing the birthday song
Don't shake a hand, then touch your face, as you daily move along
Keep your distance when you're passing, being safe is never wrong
To slow this virus down
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
The medical community, puts lives out on the line
Saving ours by risking theirs, yes, even yours and mine
We must fight this thing together, overcome it and be fine
That's what we all must do
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
Hospitals being over-run, supplies are running low
This is a big pandemic, more than anyone would know
Assembly lines reorganized to add parts to the flow
We all must do our part
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
Some among us are required, to supply all with our need
Policemen and utilities, those for our mouths to feed
The Farmers, truckers, grocers, are required, yes indeed
Their jobs make them exposed
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
Millions have been laid off, and they're not allowed to work
Not needed for essentials, they're an economic perk
It is coronavirus, not employer, that's the jerk
The bills must still be paid
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
The Hill without much wisdom, knew that Covid was at fault
Passed a bill that helps the people, and they opened up the vault
Money now, to aid the workers, brings starvation to a halt
They finally did some good
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
Now we've been in a quarantine, a couple weeks or more
The deaths and cases growing, just in case you're keeping score
Be patient for a little while, don't venture out your door
We'll shut this virus down
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
You may be getting crazy, from this isolation stir
Data's being analyzed, to get back where we were
Get us back to work again, maybe soon that should occur
There must be safety first
ChorusCoronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
Stocks were at their highest, when this virus came along
The rich began their dumping, didn't care about the throng
Could have shown a little caring, profit taking was so wrong
Three years of gains are gone
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
Unemployment at its lowest, than it was for many years
The economy was booming, lots of smiles not many tears
Coronavirus came along, lay offs brought many fears
Now we must persevere
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
It's all about the attitude, that gets us through this plight
Did not ask to go to war, yet we must fight the fight
Do whatever's asked of us, as we travel to the light
Together we will win
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
It now is very evident that we were not prepared
Hindsight is twenty twenty, caught with our asses bared
When this virus is all over, we will see how we have fared
We're still the U.S.A.
Coronavirus is among us
If we unite it won't defeat us
In its course it may deplete us
Let's strive to make it few
