The Battle Between Light and Dark

I woke up,
Turned over expecting you,
Greeted with only a lonely pillow.
It hit so hard realizing you are gone forever,
Grief and sorrow set in,
Fear yet guilt that I was there,
But you didn't hear me.
Then the pain, finally the pain,
As my heart breaks and,
I feel it deep in my soul.
What could have been,
Shall never be.
A part of me loved you,
Even when you couldnt see me.
Thanks for letting me see the light,
When i felt only darkness.
You saved me,
But i couldnt save you from yourself.
The darkness engulfed your soul,
Swallowed you whole and,
Now you are gone forever.
The battle between light and dark,
Will always be fought.
