The Battle Between Life and Death
Life and Death were once great lovers
Till Death sounded its authoritarian bell
Wanting life to abandon itself to it
To the extent of accepting to be killed
By Death and its end game!
Life then chose to part ways with Death
While, at the same time,
Challenging Death into a plot
In which the winner shall be the one
Who shall keep itself thriving
To reach the summit of eternity!
Life then multiplied itself
In all sorts of forms that it wanted,
It multiplied itself
To the extent of finally invading
The whole of Earth's waters, soils
And even its skies!
Death, on the other hand,
Chose to remain subtle
Appearing only when it felt like
Its time to shine had come,
Then when it would show its face
To the grieving heart of Life
And say
See, I am the most powerful one
But I won't tell you
I told you so!
This battle between Life and Death
Is still going on
Life, so like a capricious maiden
Chooses to remain blind and denied
Of the truth of its own meaning
And Death,
From its subtle shadow
Keeps laughing at how it is winning
At each new move
And wonders
When Life
Would finally submit to it
Accepting that
The Truth of Existence
Is nothing else
Than Death shall rule it
Always and forever!
