I’ve battled pain
That left me feeling so alone
It left my heart slain
With a sword I’d never known
~
The battle was sordid
Beating my heart and soul
Soon I’d be rewarded
Because I’d meet my goal
~
When I felt so lost and alone
God sent me His pure love
With sensations I’d never known
Gifts from the angels above
~
Grieving my losses
Seemed all there was to do
But there were the crosses
To remind me of what I knew
~
With Jesus, I will always win
Battles fierce and fearful
With Jesus, no matter where I’ve been
Love alive is so skillful
~
With Jesus, the battle is won
It only takes God’s armor
All and all, it’s said and done
His Love is my transformer
~
I’ve battled the worst
And won with His love
Pain that is reversed
Sent on wings of a dove
