The Battered Wife

Look at my huge scars of pain.
Is this the kind of love that I have to gain?
Said you won’t hurt me from a syrupy yesterday.
Why I’m seeing bruise every single day?

Is this the life that I am dreaming?
To be your battered wife has never been so fulfilling.
When was the last time when we had our best love?
All I remember is your fist with your heavy big glove.

Is this the ideal relationship that I’m wishing?
Seeing a lot of wounds is badly agonizing.
When was the time that you said you love me?
All I feel is numbness of pain inside me.

Look at my teary eyes of sting.
Is this the joy that I have been looking?
Promised you won’t hurt me when we said yes.
Such a big lie coz this life is a mess.

Deep and sad write - Lei domestic violence is such a terrible thing for anyone to endure - it may be verbal rather than physical so the scars are mental rather than seen. 'Promised you won’t hurt me when we said yes. Such a big lie coz this life is a mess. - speaks volumes:-( i too have written about domestic abuse too:-( Hugs Jan xx 7 xx
