The Basement

Would you want to see my basement? The room deep inside where I locked away my biggest secrets and regrets. Could you open the door and not be frightened of the monsters I keep locked inside ? Never to see the light of day again And if I was to give you the key and say “ this is me, this is my life “ Could you accept my past and not be derailed by what you might find ? Could you accept that we all are broken to some extent And that I have worked hard to become another person. Well here is the key Open at your own pace Just don’t judge me For my basement will never be empty.
