The Backside of the Cross, Single Parenting

Diplomacy's reveal, the hardship of conceive,
the woman bears the fruit to birth
the man does oft deceive!

And if the altar's reached
some freedoms are impeached
although the words "I promise" do not breech!

It must be centered still
the walk within ~ I mill,
no forefront's grave portraying can fulfill!

The backside of the cross
so often scened as loss
was Jesus' spined indenture of emboss!*

My efforts not bereave
this poem itself retrieve
Some virtue I can't leave ~

While in Him . . . . still believe!

*Indenture ~ to decorate in relief.
*Emboss ~ to raise the surface of!
