The Back Porch

The porch is waiting
dare you go?
with chairs so comfy cozy…

The porch is waiting
don’t you know?
with checker boards and pages….

Patterned puzzles
gory books
needle point and bikes

The porch is waiting
can you go?
Or must you stay inside?

Loved this charmer!! We spend a lot of time in the evening out on our front porch...have the best view of the mountains, and the sunset from there! ( and baseball games in our front yard). There is something rather old-fashioned and nostalgic about porches....people used to use them more in the old days .... now people are too focused on what's on TV .... how sad is that??? Nice poem!!!
