The Aztec Empire
THE AZTEC EMPIRE
Once so high and mighty
A symbol of power and glory
Fearless in combat of fists and arms
Causing harm became a norm
Over their enemies their dominance displayed
Rising from the ranks a warrior was raised
Like a god in mortal form he was so praised
Cuauhtémoc, fearless leader of the mighty Aztec empire
His wit and strength greatly admired
His voice so deep like a like a lion's roar
The warriors of Aztec, a force to be reckoned with
Taught from a young age never to quit
Trained to fight to the death
Fighting to the death was greater than wealth
And so the legend goes
The once mighty empire has become nothing but rubbles
The conquest of Cuauhtémoc by Spanish forces
Led brave men to flee on horses
The once so fearless Aztec warriors
Fled their homes, scattered everywhere like pieces of a broken mirror.
Barely a handful of the clan left behind
Were made to till, till they couldn't feel their spine.
Although the empire may be gone
The legacy of the Aztec lives on
Though scattered like the wind
Their spirit will never fade or bend
For generations to come
Their tales will be told sung like a tune
A history of courage and glory
A legacy worth more than all the gold and story
The Aztec warriors will live long in our minds
Their spirit a guiding light that shines
