The Aztec Empire
THE AZTEC EMPIRE Once so high and mighty A symbol of power and glory Fearless in combat of fists and arms Causing harm became a norm Over their enemies their dominance displayed Rising from the ranks a warrior was raised Like a god in mortal form he was so praised Cuauhtémoc, fearless leader of the mighty Aztec empire His wit and strength greatly admired His voice so deep like a like a lion's roar The warriors of Aztec, a force to be reckoned with Taught from a young age never to quit Trained to fight to the death Fighting to the death was greater than wealth And so the legend goes The once mighty empire has become nothing but rubbles The conquest of Cuauhtémoc by Spanish forces Led brave men to flee on horses The once so fearless Aztec warriors Fled their homes, scattered everywhere like pieces of a broken mirror. Barely a handful of the clan left behind Were made to till, till they couldn't feel their spine. Although the empire may be gone The legacy of the Aztec lives on Though scattered like the wind Their spirit will never fade or bend For generations to come Their tales will be told sung like a tune A history of courage and glory A legacy worth more than all the gold and story The Aztec warriors will live long in our minds Their spirit a guiding light that shines Caleb Owabor ©?©?
