The Ascent

I saw a Mountain from afar
I wished upon a shooting star
I knew I never climbed this Mount
My steepest climb was Fear and Doubt.

I never made this climb before
But knew this was the Way to more
I looked up at the stars and sighed
Would my dreams be realized?

A Day to come when I would know
Face to Face a dream no more.
A Mountain of Promise awaited me
I urgently prepared to leave.

I headed to that distant place
The Hope of Love upon my face
A journey I must take alone
Until His heart becomes my home.

Thank you, Sotto! I wrote that back in 2016. The words came from a download, and required no thinking really on my part. It was given to my spirit as a gift. Because of this, it is a poem I feel I cannot take credit for, and it is the one that is closest to my heart.
