The Artesian Pond
The Artesian Pond
A cold pond in the middle of the forest
Fed by artesian springs the water is clear as glass
Barely above freezing life abounds within its shores
Fish and exotic grasses move in a choreographed ballet
While brightly colored flowers hide a rocky bottom
Bubbles flow from underwater caverns
Breaking up the reflections of the distant shore
It is a world unto itself
Peacefully living a life destined by Mother Nature herself
Undisturbed by the encroachment of man
A miracle of nature hidden in the middle of a forest
