The Archangel and My Suffering

Once an Archangel, witnessing my suffering,

Descended close to me himself* to find 
 
And

With great compassion inquired what was the 

Cause of my pain

“ I can’t understand why so much, I have to suffer.” 

Hesitantly, I replied 

“Well,” he said compassionately,
 
“This is the only way for you, wisdom to gain!”

Robert Lindley February 20, 2015 at 7:57 AM If no pain then no gain. Seems we humans are stubborn down to the core. Pain gets our attention and leaves a last memory. A memory that says, "don't do that again!" As blinded beasts we fumble thru the world using trial and error. Great poem my friend. Your poems always are!

In some cases we are able to simply avoid it through wise planning. Sadly the fool will continue to suffer the same afflictions over and over again an in his heart think "Why me?"
