The Angel
Death wraps around her
Like a tarnished ring on a finger
She takes one last breath
In which alcohol lingers
The pills went down
Too soon after
The only thing she'll miss
Is his sweet laughter
The blade is in her hand
For the cuts on her wrist
Doesn't bother putting on a band aid
It will all be over quick
She has a smile on her face
As she lays back and cries
She has her notes
Now she's saying a sweet good bye
Her angel in the ground matches
The statue now above her head
"Never let them take the light behind your eyes"
Was the last thing she had said
Friends gathered to talk
about the girl they use to know
How she was too young
Still had room to grow
Dear, I wish you knew
How we miss you terribly
I think of you every night
And I still talk of you, sweetly
