Notes About The Poem

Amendment ll, to the Constitution of the United States of America:  A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The American Militia

WE THE PEOPLE of the United States are the American Militia

We are the ultimate first responders

We confront the criminal, the weather event, the catastrophe

We as law abiding citizens own the Arms to save lives

While waiting for needed, professional first responders

We as American Militia may assist our professional

                          Law Enforcement Officers who confront

                                     The challenges to life

                                          With their lives

                                            For our lives

We are eternally grateful and indebted to them:

                                            OUR HEROS
