The Amen Life
Let every "Amen" rise from hearts made true, not merely from lips that know what to do. For "Amen" is more than a word we proclaim—it is covenant language, agreeing with God's name. It means, "It is true," "Lord, let it be," a sacred surrender of all that is me. No English word can fully contain the depth of its worship, its truth, or refrain. When God's Word reaches the depths of our soul, our "Amen" declares that Christ is our goal. In awe and thanksgiving we joyfully say, "Lord, I believe and will walk in Your way."
An "Amen" not lived is an empty refrain; loud in the sanctuary, yet silent in pain. Careless "Amens" are spiritually vain when our lives contradict what our lips would proclaim. Before my mouth utters "Amen," may my heart already bow and say, "Yes, Lord, somehow." The church has mastered the language of praise, but God is seeking "Amen" lives in all our days. As Ellen G. White reminds us, "Truth that is not lived, that is not imparted, loses its life-giving power." Truth must be embodied in conduct and deed, in family and fellowship, in every good seed. For God will not ask how many "Amens" we said, but how faithfully His truth through our lives was spread.
So let us live an "Amen" life each day, following Jesus—the Truth, the Life, and the Way. Christ is the true Amen, faithful and sure, whose love and obedience forever endure. Let every breath become an "Amen" to His will, steadfast in service and quietly still. May our obedience echo heaven's decree: "All that the Lord has spoken, so let it be." Let us not merely say "Amen" when our prayers are done, but live it until our race is won. Lord, write Your truth upon our hearts today, that our lives may forever declare, Amen and Amen.
