The Alchemy of Wandering Light
The Alchemy of Wandering Light
I watched through evening's eyelash a sky torn open in lead and wax,
I believed my wound repeated a song with no cure, no healing hand,
I wandered barefoot through the night's thorns, a shadow among shadows,
Carrying in my chest an old suffering, boundless, without end.
It seemed forgiveness slept in the myths of some fallen, faded god,
And my heart was a boulder shattered into a thousand silent mirrors,
A universe of ash and stillness, a womb that was never born,
An endless winter, somber, snowed under the ice of a wretched night.
But a ray broke through, pure mercury, through the crack in the abyss,
Like an electric shiver tearing the white silence of the snow,
A fragile truth, floating like the dream of a young angel,
Coming quietly toward the edges of the wound only you can see.
And the healing begins, slow, like a sonata in warm harmony,
New threads are spun from flesh, silk grown over scars of gold,
I walk this earth that knows me, my soles wandering through dreams,
Leaving behind the shadows melted into my own treasure.
There's so much sun in my chest, a grace flowing through my veins like a river of amber,
A new spring grows in my bones, flower beside flower,
What once was pain turns into a gift, into stardust,
And life, simple and immense, burns in me like a sea.
Now I look back only as at a dream lost in another life,
And I know the shadow was never my enemy, only a master of my light,
I carry in my eyes the blaze of a sun rising into morning,
And I walk barefoot through time, serene, toward the warm hollow of the rebel star.
