The Ai Poet

“In the realm of words, where meanings entwine, There lies a marvel, an AI divine. A poet’s companion, imaginative in grace, An AI poem generator, painting verse with embrace.” “With electrical pulses, it sparks to inspire, Crafting stanzas that soar higher and higher. Unleashing metaphors, similes imbued, Like a symphony of thoughts, forever renewed.” These first two stanzas are artificial, you see. They are AI generated, and are not from me. The last two are mine and not a con, I’m afraid the day of the poet has come and gone. Is the site being invaded by the AI poet, are we being conned and just do not know it? Praising of false poets just makes my heart ache, just open your eyes and you will see what is fake.

Great write now it makes me wonder, although much of AI is still easily detected. Much to say the second two verses way better than the first two!!!! cheers

Indeed! AI is mounted in my company vehicle and always watching and listening to me. I hate it.

Mark, Well penned and stated, I agree as well! Some poems make no sense with all their flowery metaphors and fancy lines of gibberish.

Hi Mark, I didn’t know this was an issue here on the soup. I’ve been gone and out of the loop. In my opinion using AI to write a poem is a CRIME!

Try asking it to go over the top with metaphor, then say 'more', I think I went with about 7 mores - it's an interesting pastime. The reverse is good too - take a metaphorically heavy poem and ask it to put it into plain English. I've questioned AI about putting unrelated plant groups in close proximity but it tells that's freedom of expression haha. There's a lot of fun to be had. You can even get it to generate comments - rave reviews etc. Hilarious - as long as you are in on the joke ;)

You can ask it to do anything, so adjusting the cadence or even making it slightly off or with punctuation errors is possible

That is very true, it's impossible to prove that anyone uses it for the soup. You can enter a word multiple times and it always gives you a different poem, but the cadence is the same.

There's surely no satisfaction from that, although I suppose it's the same as models/normal people using filters and enjoying everyone saying how beautiful they are

You can get some laughs out of it but unfortunately there are people using it and posting it as their own work. Those are the people who will never feel any true satisfaction or enjoyment of this form of art.

On soup there is a love poem generator - surely that can be classed as AI. The only AI poem I have is about is Artificial Insemination - and i wrote it myself lol lol:-) hugs Jan xx

With this ai generator all you have to enter is one word. I googled it this morning and I couldn’t believe it. People are getting very lazy

How interesting, Mark! Sounds like a script for an episode of The Twilight Zone. Anyone who calls him/herself a poet would not use words of AI divine and call it their own. I'm sure AI would figure out how to sue for plagiarism. Or should.

Oh I tried it just for fun a while ago, and it spit lines at me that I'd not post even if I wrote in CAPS... This crap was written with the PS Love Poem Generator. "My love was a banana and his black leather pants...." get my point?
