The Age of Steam

The age of steam has surely long gone Engines puffing away like gracful swans Creating puffy white clouds Like “look up here” out loud A delightful glorious scene to gaze upon

Indeed. I remember them well, and I miss them, Jack.

Many people our age fondly remember this image of steam trains and their toot toot whistle! It's a happy AND sad memory! Cheers Milton!

They had character, travelled on many a steam train when I was younger then progress came and they faded away. Happy days for sure. Tom

"then progress came"? Unfortunate I would say... those old steamers had character! Oh well we must keep up with the latest!! Have a good day Sir Thomas!

The good old days Jack wish I was living in. Thanks for the thought. I took the Amtrak Train from NY to Sacramento. It was the best trip I have ever taken. Three days, I enjoyed every second of it. The scenery was spectacular. It was in February. The mountains were beautiful went through the Rockes. If you have never done it I encourage you to do so. Made some friends along the way too. This little poem of yours reminded me. Thanks for sharing Jack...

OH for those days to return! About twenty years ago, rented a camper and drove across the northern U.S. states to the west coast then down the coast to San Diego, across the southern states to the east coast and back up to Toronto! What a trip!!! Our family of six were blown away! What trip!!!
